Hari sabtu lalu, tanggal 25 April, ada kabar duka dari negara seberang sana. Sebuah gempa bumi maha dahsyat menghantam sebuah negara kecil diantara India dan China, yaitu Nepal.
Merespon hal tersebut, Microsoft berinisiatif untuk mendonasikan bantuan sebesar 13 Milyar Rupiah untuk bencana tersebut.

Microsoft is deeply saddened by the devastating events of the Nepal earthquake and we extend our deepest sympathies to all whom have been impacted. We are providing a minimum of $1 million in donations of cash, technology and services to the rescue and recovery effort in Nepal,
Donasi tersebut akan disalurkan melalui NetHope, untuk mendukung operasi non profit mereka disana.
Selain itu juga Microsoft menawarkan panggilan telepon Skype gratis ke ponsel maupun telepon rumah di negara tersebut.
