Patch Tuesday seperti biasa selalu Microsoft kirimkan di minggu kedua tepat hari selasa, meski memang terkadang di region Indonesia, update tersebut meluncur dini hari tepat dihari rabu-nya.
Nah mengingat kemarin adalah hari dimana patch tuesday ini dirilis, hari tersebut pula adalah hari dimana terakhir kalinya Windows 7 dan Windows 8.1 mendapatkan dukungan dari Microsoft, sehingga tentu ada satu update terakhir yang mereka kirimkan sebelum meninggalkan kedua OS tersebut.
Untuk Windows 7, update yang dikirimkan melalui Extended Security Update adalah update KB5022338, dimana ada dua changelog yang dicatat Microsoft, diantaranya adalah sebagai berikut:
- Authentication might fail after you set the higher 16-bits of the msds-SupportedEncryptionTypes attribute. This issue might occur if encryption types are not set or if RC4 Encryption type is disabled on the domain.
- Resolves a known issue that affects apps that use Microsoft Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) SQL Server Driver (sqlsrv32.dll) to connect to databases. The connection might fail. You might also receive an error in the app, or you might receive an error from the SQL Server.
Sementara itu, untuk Windows 8.1 update yang dihadirkan adalah update KB5022352 yang mana juga membawa perbaikan baru mencakup :
- Authentication might fail after you set the higher 16-bits of the msds-SupportedEncryptionTypes attribute. This issue might occur if encryption types are not set or if RC4 Encryption type is disabled on the domain.
- Starting in this release, we are displaying a modal dialog box to remind users about the End of Support for Windows 8.1 in January 2023. This reminder does not appear on managed devices that run Windows 8.1 Pro or Windows 8.1 Enterprise.
- Resolves a known issue that affects apps that use Microsoft Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) SQL Server Driver (sqlsrv32.dll) to connect to databases. The connection might fail. You might also receive an error in the app, or you might receive an error from the SQL Server.
Tetapi kawan kawan, dengan update tersebut Microsoft menambahkan known issues baru yang tentu tidak akan pernah mereka perbaiki mengingat kedua OS ini sudah diakhiri dukungannya oleh mereka, dimana known issues tersebut mencakup:
- After this update or a later Windows update is installed, domain join operations might be unsuccessful and error “0xaac (2732): NERR_AccountReuseBlockedByPolicy” occurs. Additionally, text stating “An account with the same name exists in Active Directory. Re-using the account was blocked by security policy” might be displayed. - After installing this update and restarting your device, you might receive the error, “Failure to configure Windows updates. Reverting Changes. Do not turn off your computer”, and the update might show as Failed in Update History. (known issues khusus di Windows 7).
Nah jadi untuk kamu nih yang masih menggunakan Windows 7 dengan paket ESU tambahan, dan juga untuk kamu yang masih menggunakan Windows 8.1, kamu bisa mendownload update tersebut sekarang via Windows Update, namun ingat, update ini adalah update terakhir, jadi ada baiknya kamu segera melakukan upgrade ke versi Windows yang lebih baru.
