VirtualBox merupakan salah satu aplikasi virtual machine populer, bukan hanya untuk para pengguna Windows, tapi untuk Mac dan Linux juga. Hal ini karena VirtualBox merupakan salah satu aplikasi cross platform yang tersedia hampir disemua system operasi Desktop.
Nah mengenai VirtualBox, baru baru ini akhirnya versi Beta pertama dari VirtualBox 7 telah dirilis, dimana diversi baru ini ada sejumlah peningkatan menarik loh.
Berdasarkan changelognya, ada beberapa hal yang berubah di VirtualBox 7, yang pertama kini Vorbis kini digunakan sebagai default audio format untuk WebM container, dimana Opussudah mulai ditinggalkan.
Selain itu ada sejumlah fitur experimental lain yang telah ditambahkan, seperti adanya dukungan experimental untuk menjalankan auto-started VMs di session 0, ditambahkannya default host driver type. Dan masih banyak lagi, untuk lebih jelasnya kamu bisa melihat changelog berikut:
- Audio recording: Vorbis is now used as the default audio format for WebM containers. Opus is no longer used.
- Audio: Added a “default” host driver type to allow moving VMs (appliances) between different platforms without having to explicitly change the audio driver. When the “Standard” driver is selected, the best audio backend option for a platform is used. This is the default setting for newly created VMs.
- Guest Control: Added initial support for automatically updating guest accounts for Linux guests
- Guest Control: Implemented the ability to wait for the guest and/or restart it when guest accounts are updated via VBoxManage
- VBoxManage: Guest Control added “waitrunlevel” sub-command to make it possible to wait for a guest to reach a certain runlevel
- Windows Hosts: Added experimental support for running auto-started VMs in session 0 to allow running VMs even if no user is logged in (disabled by default, please read the manual)

Tentunya, karena masih merupakan versi Beta Pertama, mungkin masih ada beberapa masalah dan bug di versi ini, sehingga untuk pemakaian utama, sangat tidak direkomendasikan menggunakan versi ini.
