Sesuai jadwal bulanan, Microsoft beberapa waktu lalu telah merilis cumulative update bulan Agustus 2024 untuk para pengguna Windows 11, update tersebut umumnya diluncurkan untuk para pengguna Windows 11 versi 21H2, 22H2, 23H2 dan 24H2 yang saat ini berada di Insider Release Preview dan khusus pengguna Copilot+.

Untuk Windows 11 versi 22H2 dan 23H2 update yang dihadirkan adalah update KB5041585 dimana didalamnya ada sejumlah peningkatan mencakup perbaikan pada sistem operasi dan semua peningkatan yang telah hadir di preview update dua minggu lalu. Selain itu, build dari Windows 11 22H2 dan 23H2 sendiri akan diperbarui menjadi 22621.4037 dan 22631.4037.
Nah yang menarik dari pembaruan ini adalah masalah masalah yang membut perangkat pengguna terkunci BitLocker telah diperbaiki, namun Microsoft mengingatkan bahwa jika sebelumnya pengguna telah terkunci pengguna harus memasukan recovery key yang ada di akun Microsoft atau yang telah pengguna backup di perangkat lokal sebelumnya.
Selain itu, ada sejumlah perbaikan termasuk perbaikan pada masalah keamanan berikut:
- [Lock screen] This update addresses CVE-2024-38143. Because of this, the “Use my windows user account” check box is not available on the lock screen to connect to Wi-Fi.
- [NetJoinLegacyAccountReuse] This update removes this registry key. For more information refer to KB5020276—Netjoin: Domain join hardening changes.
- [Secure Boot Advanced Targeting (SBAT) and Linux Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI)] This update applies SBAT to systems that run Windows. This stops vulnerable Linux EFI (Shim bootloaders) from running. This SBAT update will not apply to systems that dual-boot Windows and Linux. After the SBAT update is applied, older Linux ISO images might not boot. If this occurs, work with your Linux vendor to get an updated ISO image.
Untuk pengguna Windows 11 versi 21H2, update yang dihadirkan adalah update KB5041592 dimana melalui update ini build OS akan diperbarui menjadi 22000.3147.
Peningkatan yang dihadirkan sendiri masih sama seperti pada versi Windows 11 22H2 dan 23H2 dengan penambahan pada daftar driver yang terancam serangan Bring Your Own Vulnerable Driver (BYOVD) selain itu pengguna kini dapat melakukan bypass pada Protected Process Light (PPL) protections.
Nah perlu diingat, Windows 11 21H2 dan 22H2 sendiri akan segera mencapai akhir dukungan pada 8 Oktober 2024 nanti, sehingga pengguna disarankan untuk segera memperbarui sistem ke Windows 11 versi 23H2 atau yang lebih baru.
Sementara itu, untuk pengguna Windows 11 24H2, update yang hadir adalah KB5041571 dengan peningkatan yang kurang lebih sama, yaitu :

Umumnya, build yang dihadirkan ini tidak mendapatkan banyak peningkatan major pada sistem operasi, namun tentu kualitas dari sistem akan diperbarui dan dibuat menjadi lebih baik lagi.
Untuk kamu yang saat ini menggunakan Windows 11 versi 21H2, 22H2, 23H2 dan 24H2, kamu bisa langsung saja melakukan check for updates secara manual dari halaman Settings > Windows Updates > Check for updates.
