Sebelumnya kita sudah membahas bahwa Microsoft kemungkinan akan membatalkan perilisan Windows 10X dan Surface Neo ditahun ini, dan terkait hal tersebut, akhirnya Microsoft memberikan konfirmasinya akan hal ini.
Dalam halaman Blognya, Panos Panay Chief Product Officer, Windows and Devices menjelaskan sekaligus mengkonfirmasi bahwa fokus Windows 10X kini bukanlah perangkat Dual Screen lagi, sehingga nantinya ketika Windows 10X sudah siap, perangkat yang pertama kali akan menjalankan Windows 10X bukanlah perangkat Layar Ganda seperti Surface Neo, melainkan perangkat Single Screen seperti biasa.
“These single-screen devices will be the first expression of Windows 10X that we deliver to our customers, and we will continue to look for the right moment, in conjunction with our OEM partners, to bring dual-screen devices to market.” Tulis Panos Panay dalam halaman Blog Windows.
“With Windows 10X, we designed for flexibility, and that flexibility has enabled us to pivot our focus toward single-screen Windows 10X devices that leverage the power of the cloud to help our customers work, learn and play in new ways. These single-screen devices will be the first expression of Windows 10X that we deliver to our customers, and we will continue to look for the right moment, in conjunction with our OEM partners, to bring dual-screen devices to market.”
Selain itu Surface Neo yang dijanjikan akan hadir tahun ini juga ditunda tanpa batas yang belum ditentukan. Namun meskipun begitu, para developer tetap masih bisa mengembangkan aplikasi mereka untuk mendukung Dual Screen Device di Windows 10 melalui Emulator yang telah tersedia.

Dan dikarenakan fokus Microsoft akan Windows 10X di Single Screen Device, maka besar kemungkinan kita akan segera melihat Windows 10X Preview segera.
